On the eve of war in 1938 representatives from 32 countries, including the US, UK and Australia, met to “address the problem” of Jewish refugees trying to flee Germany and Austria. Nothing was agreed upon. I’m really ashamed of my Australian countryman T. W. White who said:
As we have no real racial problem, we are not desirous of importing one.
The rest of the world was incredibly prejudice towards the Jewish people at the time as well.
