I remember when this article came out, and it has stuck with me as the most pure example of evil. Maybe not evil, but I can’t find a better word to describe the careless, selfish cruelty. They’re building a better world for themselves and themselves alone, and using our sacrifice to do it.

If it’s any consolation, they are going to end up as slaves to the security forces that they will have to set up. Once the economy collapses it will be might makes right once again.

Yeah, these guys are going to find out pretty quickly that they’re not warlords, and you can’t Agile, litigate or buyback your way to suppressing a coup. They might still come out in a good position, because they have easy access to nice stuff and important people, and that doesn’t instantly go away, but it’s not going to be how they imagined.

Kamil Galeev had a good quote on this once: “Innovators are greenhouse flowers, they flourish only in very safe societies”. And honestly, a lot of these guys are barely innovators.

They’re building a better world for themselves and themselves alone, and using our sacrifice to do it.

That is literally the essence of capitalism, and the reason for imperialism and colonialism.
