minus-squareoldGregg@lemm.eelinkfedilinkarrow-up22·1 year agoGood for you! I do it at least 3 times a week
minus-squaresocsa@lemmy.mllinkfedilinkarrow-up6·1 year agoSame. Having a 10Gb/s data link from my phone comes in handy pretty fucking often.
minus-squaremoney_loo@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up5·1 year agoPrivately transferring large porn files?
minus-squareFuntyMcCraiger@sh.itjust.workslinkfedilinkarrow-up16·1 year agoI connected my phone to tether internet since the power was out but the cell network was still going.
minus-squareaudiomodderlinkfedilinkarrow-up2·1 year agoiPhones can tether via a wifi connection, so that’s not necessary. Does drain the battery a bit faster, though.
minus-squaremoney_loo@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up1·1 year agoiPhone can share it over Bluetooth too, if it helps.
minus-squaremoney_loo@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up1·1 year agoI wasn’t sure so I didn’t want to say, thanks for the information.
minus-squareHydroel@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up1·1 year agoAll smartphones I’ve had since around 2013 could do that. Is Wifi Hotspot still locked behind an ISP paywall exclusively on iPhone?
minus-squareaudiomodderlinkfedilinkarrow-up1·1 year agoNope. That’s kinda my point though. You don’t NEED to tether.
minus-squareBOMBS@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up4·1 year agoI don’t do it often either, but it came in clutch this week when I re-installed Linux Mint and needed to download the drivers for my wifi card via tethering.
