i feel like the only way to have small rodents is to have a whole lot of them and constantly getting more, so you always have all the others to keep you happy and distract you, and the whole “family” is a ship of theseus situation.

Ratties are great. I vowed to not get anymore because of their short lifespans. My heart just can’t take it
