I largely agree. This is one area where I think adoption of technology is a generally good thing. Communication and coordination using self hosted and open source software is how “the revolution” will be organized (opinion). The idea of truly local instances of all the things to allow for AFK community organizing appeals to me so much! I’m working to build a server I can do that with!!!
