I’ve said this for a while, but i advise against protest in favor of mutual aid. Join groups that provide essentials like food, water, housing, and non controversial forms of healthcare. Help people get access to reproductive and gender affirming healthcare if you are able to take on more risk.
If your protest is anything that actually challenges the fascists, it will do nothing but martyr yourself. Unless your direct action is actually crippling the rich or directly interfering with the state, your resistance will not accomplish much beyond reminding people that you’re upset (you achieve that as well by having actual resistance).
You do not have civil rights or liberties, as our Guantanamo Bay loving commander in chief has been making very clear. The fascists are accelerating headlong into a world of naked power, where diplomacy and trust don’t exist. They are intentionally crashing the economy like I suspected they would; not because they are trying to help the rich, but because they are consolidating power into the hands of the most violent and cruel.
Protests are meaningless because words have no power anymore without violence to back it up. They know it’ll take years before most Democrats realize that liberal democracy died last November, and they’ll waste precious time assuming they can still fight fascism through the system. The American experiment failed, and everyone needs to wake the fuck up to that.
