So within two weeks of Trump coming to power, the climate for LGBTQ+ people at the DOJ has become so unsafe that they are having to hide their activities and wish they were back in the closet. I’m really starting to dislike Nazis.
People keep insisting to me that queer people are totally safe in America because Trump hasn’t done anything yet (even though he has), so why worry about genocide? As if the Nazis started putting people in the oven in the first month Hitler was Chancellor.
And, unfortunately for these people, the internet is forever. If they want to root out all the (possibly formerly) openly queer people in America, they have a lot of options at their disposal and it’s terrifying.
That’s why some of us (I’m sure you’re included in this statement) were actually upset at all the warrantless spying that happened during the Bush years and how it paved the way for this.
Yes, the worry with all this data collection was never just about the present, but about who might get their hands on it in future once it has been collected and stored, and what they might use it for.
I was upset but I was also like, “yeah, of course they’re spying on all of us.” Like it was so NOT a surprise that it was almost difficult to get upset about it.

Exactly how I felt, saw a big headline revealing that the “NSA is spying on Americans!” And just thought to myself oh, y’all just now noticed??
You are just now starting to dislike Nazis because of these 2 wannabes?
It’s ok to be well into the hating nazi since the 1940s
