I’ve spent some time messing with WLED, which is a DIY addressable LED light solution. For example, an addressable light strip means you can control individual LEDs— instead of just the strip as a whole— which unlocks patterns and animations.
Govee is an off-the-shelf plug-and-play solution. This is pretty next level, especially considering “stage scene” is a new feature they added.
The 2min video is worth the watch if you enjoy sick lighting.

By the way, how do you display a longer text and increase the text speed beyond its maximum limit? Currently, it can only display about five words at a snail’s pace.
Ooo. I actually have sound reactivity, but what caught my eye is native Home Assistant integration. I’m using Homebridge, but if I were using HA, I could see this being a big selling point for the fork.
The Home Assistant integration is from the WLED main branch, not the fork. However, you can still use the integration for the fork.
Although the integration is quite slow. I had to bridge it with MQTT to improve its reliability.
Ahhh that makes sense. I wish WLED had matter support so you could add it directly to Apple home.
